Audiovisual culture plays a crucial role in shaping contemporary narratives across diverse media platforms. Recently, the role of film music has expanded beyond cinema, contributing to storytelling in literature, radio dramas, and digital media. This research examines the intersection of audiovisual culture, transmedia storytelling, and the interdisciplinary role of film music, focusing on how music enriches narratives across different media. It explores how music operates in films, literature, and emerging platforms, highlighting its impact on emotional resonance, narrative structure, and cultural conversations. Drawing on case studies such as Chinese film soundtracks, radio dramas, and digital platforms, this study explores that music is integrated into transmedia narratives within global and Chinese media contexts. By analyzing the relationship between music, narrative, and audience engagement, this research investigates how producers use sound to deepen emotional and intellectual connections with audiences. Through an interdisciplinary lens, this study enhances the understanding of how music transcends individual media formats, creating immersive and participatory experiences. It also examines the evolving role of music in transmedia narratives, especially in contemporary Chinese media, where music not only drives the narrative but also encourages active audience participation across platforms. This research highlights the critical role of film music in shaping modern audiovisual culture and transmedia narratives, emphasizing its interdisciplinary application across various media and its influence on audience engagement, with a focus on Chinese media landscapes.
